The story of a lamp

You may know our Lamp, the Norm 69 but did you also know:

It was designed in 1969 by Simon Karkov
The name derives from Normann, designyear 1969
Left lying on the designers loft for many years

Consists of 69 parts
Put into production by Normann Copenhagen in 2002
Lights up the Danish Sailors Church in New York

Four sizes from Small to XXL
You assembly it yourself without tools or glue
Awarded by IMM Cologne (Best item) and Formland

Our own assembly record time is 34 minutes set by Ronni
Most “first timers” spend 2-3 hours assembling
Norm 69 Cream version was discontinued in 2008

Looks great with a colored fabric wire
Simon Karkov has also designed the Norm 06 lamp … in 2006!

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
Normann Copenhagen
