Castor Recycled Tube Light

Since this is my first post here on Spotted I thought I would introduce myself by instroducing one of my favorite pieces from my home, Toronto.

The Recycled Tube Light is by Castor Canadenis and ,although a few years old, I love the two prominent themes in the design. First, the aesthetic of the light is very industrial and therefore no coincidence that it has been popping up in many of the warehouses and factories that have been recently converted into popular lofts, restaurants and shops in Toronto. Second, the light is built from recycled florescent lights, which makes it a great example of how design can make a difference.

For these reasons I think the light represents a lot of what Toronto is right now; a city with an industrial past but that has a growing design conscious.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
