Put Some Type On

As a typography nerd a friend recently asked me what some good places to get posters for his house were. I thought it would be a great idea for a post because I think we’ve all wondered the same thing at some point.

There are literally THOUSANDS of brilliant designers out there  who make amazing art using typography and design. There is absolutely no way I – or anyone else – could ever come up with a comprehensive list. However, i’ve done my best to highlight a FEW sites i’ve come across. I invite anyone to post their favorite sites in the comments – even if it’s your own! (there’s nothing wrong with self promotion!)

Change The Thought - One of my favorite shops, I own several of the limited edition prints. You can also get some of the now iconic Obama posters.

Design Supremo – Pricey but very unique wall art prints.

Walloper – Uses Toronto’s unique subway signage available to put on your wall.

HelveticaFilm –  Some of the superstar designers from the documentary about the typeface lend their skills to what they do best: posters about Helvetica.

MoMA store - The mother of all design/art museums naturally has one of the best online store for posters and prints.

Sam Javanrough – One of my favorite Toronto based photographers. You can purchase prints off his photoblog.

Barcode Plantage – Takes barcodes and makes cool posters out of them which you can download for a few dollars.

Esty – Huge online marketplace where artists can sell their gear. May take some searching but great things to be found.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
