Copenhagen Fashion Week is just about to hit town. Normann Copenhagen has teamed up with fashion designer Camilla Stærk melting the two worlds of fashion and interior design – the result is the Spine Rug which is now available. Spine Rug is part of the New Danish Modern collection .
The untamed, the dramatic and the distinguished are the essence behind Spine Rug. With its dramatic print in grey black shades Spine Rug has been designed for all of us who love fashion and design with delectable qualities. Its made out of 100% wool.
Inspiration comes from her favourite muse, Karen Blixen, and her meeting between Africa and her Danish roots. Accordingly this provides the inspiration behind her spring/summer collection 2009.
Camilla Stærk says: ” For a long time it has been my passion to design products for the home. For me a floor rug must be interesting without dominating the room. It was natural to work with the grey black nuances and in this way remain faithful to the colour scheme which I most often work with. In addition to this the quality of the material makes the tones of the colours intermingle and the print is emphasised in Spine Rug. In this way the print also looks good in large sizes.”
Camilla Stærk was so taken by the African inspired prints that she felt prompted to see the print in its full form – enlarged and rectangular. Through doing this, the grey black spine’s print was transformed to the sustaining element in this elegant floor rug, the Spine Rug.
Normally based in New York, Camilla Stærk is known for her creations of quality design for clothes, shoes, bags and various accessories. Spine Rug is also redolent of her work which is characterised by quality and black nuances.
