Heima, Home and Hygge*

Heima-candlestick

According to Nordic mythology Heima means home or the world, but Heima is also the name behind our new candlestick. Designed by Francis Cayouette, Heima is a four-armed candlestick made of cast iron in a minimalist, Nordic design.Heima-with-candles

Inspired by the Nordic culture for living flames and the cast iron arts and craft movement of the 1950s, the French-Canadian Francis Cayouette has interpreted the classic candlestick. The result is a candlestick featuring a recognisable design that pays tribute to industrial craftsmanship and Nordic traditions. *Hygge is Danish for cosy or coziness or chillaxing as one of our Twitter friends suggests.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
