This is Good Design!

“This is good design” was the first thing we said to Jesper K. Thomsen when he showed us his ideas for the Camping series. Now we are not the only ones to think his indoor furniture are awesone.

Camping has been awarded with the prestigious design award 2008-2009 Good Design Award. The award is given by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture & Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd and is awarded to quality design of excellence form, function and aesthetic.

The Camping series was awarded with its first design award at a jury session in New York less than a year after the launch. In February 2009, the series was launch for the first time in Scandinavian at Stockholm Furniture Fair. The world premiere was in April 2009 at the Salone Internazionale Mobiles in Milan where Normann Copenhagen exhibited its new furniture collection New Danish Modern where the Camping series got lot of attention.

The series consists of chairs, table, stool and daybed in moulded beech wood.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
Normann Copenhagen
