Traveling to big cities can sometimes be quite stressful. This is also why we always strive to find at least one unique place to recharge our batteries. If you are planning to visit Copenhagen we would like to tell you about one of these places in our hometown. It is a place located only 2 minutes walk from the most visited train station in Denmark – yet too few people know of its existence. Care to see it? – just click below.

Armed with the Tilt Shift Generator app for our iPhone we took off to the Botanical Garden in Copenhagen.

The unique building was partly made possible to build due to the danes taste for beer! – sounds odd, here is the proof.

Art, architecture, design and plants – seems to be living in perfect harmony inside the “biosphere”.
No wonder that architects and designers are inspired again and again by mother nature.

View from inside the greenhouse.

We like the design of the “bio bin” concealed as a cocoon.

Once inside the greenhouse take the old spiral staircase and in two seconds you feel like standing in the middle of a rainforest.

We spotted this red frog (with blue stripes) inside the warm greenhouse, but have no clue if it´s a native Danish frog or something more exotic. If you know anything about the little fellow, do share your knowledge in the comments field.

Beautiful details everywhere.

Bonus info: The Botanic garden has a small – and very cozy cafe, definitely worth a visit.

Nice pics!
Careful! This might be a poison dart frog, Oophaga pumilio.

Just came back from Copenhagen a few days ago. I was crossing the Botanical Garden and noticed these large floating bowls on the frozen lake. Any idea who the artist is?
Hi hildA,
Info about the artist in Danish right here: http://snm.ku.dk/udstillinger/dokumentbritsmelvaer/
Thank you for the info, will add it to the post I made about it.
