A trip down memory lane

Join us on a trip down memory lane in our store in Copenhagen. See the furniture, design objects and people which defined a whole period in time. A period where shapes were futuristic, fun and round and where everything were in bright colors. A time where the creative minds were a bit more… lets call it… experimental!

The opposite of a modern and minimalistic design from B&O.

Amazing brass Sci-fi lamps.

Probably the best designed JVC TV (Nivico) ever. Interesting to see a TV that looks great even when its not on… just wish it would still work!

Italian Olivetti managed to add a bit of fun to an otherwise boring product.

Beautiful organic shapes – could even double as a lamp.

The Ericofon from a time when a phone was used for talking – imagine that!

Futuristic steel design named Combi.

The shoes from the real Sex & the city period.

Experience a trip down memory lane at our flagship store. Find the directions here

A huge picture of Frank Zappa shot by the Danish photographer Bent Rej. See the video from the opening night of the ON STAGE / OFF STAGE exhibition.

Those pictures made me so sentimental…not, that I’m so old that I actually clearly remember those colourful and crazy times but I definitely think of them as those innocent childhood years when people where much more laid back and open.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
Normann Copenhagen
