Most Innovative Store!

Normann Copenhagen has been awarded the Denmark global innovation award (gia) for ‘most innovative store’ for our 1,700 m2 Flagship Store at Østerbro in Copenhagen. Gia is an international award presented to the most innovative and exciting store in the field of interior design and décor in Denmark.

The award is then presented on an international scale, with Denmark competing against the rest of the world at The International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago in March 2012. We won in the ‘small independent retailers’ category.

“We are delighted and proud to receive the Denmark gia, and we are excited about the international prize-giving event in 2012. We want Normann Copenhagen to be an ongoing source of inspiration for our visitors 24/7. As an example, we design a new window display every evening,” explains Peter Elmegaard, Retail Director and co-owner.

In 2005, we opened the 1700 m2 Flagship Store in the heart of Copenhagen. The former cinema is now home to a unique shopping experience with an extensive selection of design and lifestyle products, as well as fashion, by high-end brands. The experiential side of the old cinema has been preserved, and exhibitions and events provide the platform for extraordinary design experiences.

Whether Normann Copenhagen becomes the overall global winner among 20 other winners from five continents will be revealed at a big gala show during the International Home + Housewares Show taking place between10-13 March, 2012.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
