Design Lovers Needed For Testing

Normann Copenhagen is soon launching a new online platform and we are proud to say that it already looks awesome. However, before we do so we would like to invite you, design lovers, to help us make sure that everything is working the way it’s suppose to.

Therefore we would like you to help us test the platform before we launch it.

We would like you to concentrate on those areas where we can make the most positive impact for you – our future user of the platform.
To sign up for testing, please write to us at blog@normann-copenhagen.com

Bonus: You will be one of the first to see our new platform.

We are grateful to everyone who takes the time to share their opinions with us.

Hang – a legal lamp!

When designing an office space you have to consider the  surroundings and the use.
And that is exactly what the Italian design studio, ANK in Venice, did. For an Italian law firm they created a modern and hip, yet serious space.

For lighting they used our Hang lamp designed by Rikke Hagen. The soft retro inspiration and the classic design make every room special. The lamp is a good example of functionallity and simplicity.

Time to design – a project is evolving…

Winner of  Time to design 2011, designer Milia Seyppel from Germany, is right now working on her winner project at the Danish Art Workshops. We recently paid her a visit at the workshops to see how far her project has come along.

Milia won the award in August and since then she has worked intensively on her project “Industry versus Craftmanship” – the development of three unique lamp types inspired by the age of industrialization, industrial production methods and upcoming industrial materials.

The project will be exhibited in our Flagship Store from November 24th to December 8th 2011. Continue reading ‘Time to design – a project is evolving…’

Offline shopping meets the online world

At Normann Copenhagen we have quite a lot of pictures, videos and blogposts of our products and designers – but everything is online and unless you have brought your laptop into the shop, you will never see it. However there is a simple solution. Use your mobile phone as a way to get access to the content.

Today we have placed 22 QR-codes in the Normann Copenhagen Flagship Store. Each with a “link” that leads you to picture, blogpost or video… go ahead – try it.

  1. Get the ScanLife software for your smartphone.
  2. Scan the QR-code.
  3. After a few seconds your phone will be transformed into a video player, a blogpost reader or even a shopping device.

It’s time to celebrate

Dear Friends and Fans on Facebook,

A year ago we launched our Facebook page and much has happened since then. We have shared tons of products , pictures, videos and asked for your help in finding the right product name, colors,  and even asked you to be creative. We have listened  and learned a lot. For us Facebook has become a way to keep in touch with design lovers all over the world. Because we all have something in common on our Facebook page – we love great design + a few more things.

This calls for a celebration and what better way to celebrate (when we can’t all meet in person) than to give some of our most popular products to you. We have made a game – the rules are simple – and a bit challenging.

Go to our Facebook page – and let the game begin.

Best regards

Team Normann Copenhagen

You – and your Facebook team can win one of the four prizes. The Washing-up bowl, the Krenit bowl, the Familia Warm bowl and the Hang On coat hanger… click below to see how.

Say hello to Nanna and win her favorite product

This is Nanna Liv Pedersen – our new Sales Manager for the UK, Ireland & Scotland market. Nanna is Danish born, but have lived in London for the past two years. We are really looking forward to having Nanna as part of the Normann Copenhagen family.

Among her favorite products is the Grass vase designed by Claydies. Now is your chance to win her favorite product. But be warned this is not an easy prize to win. It’s a virtual treasure hunt where you have to be both fast and clever.

A super cozy green spot right in the middle of London… but where exactly is it?

UPDATE: We have found a winner
Within 27 minutes we received the first 5 correct links, but the fastest of them all was Iwona Maria Borkowska. Congratulations Iwona, a Large Grass vase is on it’s way to you.

Be the first to find this London roof garden – and you will win a Grass vase!

How to participate in the virtual treasure hunt:

  1. Visit the site 360cites
  2. Find the roof garden shown above
  3. Once you have located the garden be the first to share the exact location by clicking “Share current view”
  4. Send us the link either by mail (blog@normann-copenhagen.com) or via Twitter with the hashtag #NormannCPH

The first correct link to arrive wins a large Grass vase at a retail value of Euro 60.

Say Hello to DROPIT

This is Dropit. Dropit got its name thanks to Julia Heimbürger who suggested it on our Facebook page.

In two weeks we got more than 525 name suggestions and  29 awesome drawings. The prize for best drawing goes to Ditte Munk.

  • Best name: Dropit by Julia Heimbürger
  • Best drawing: A Peacock designed by Ditte Munk
  • Most Liked suggestion: Helle Jørgensen

THANK YOU VERY MUCH to every single one of you for participating and interacting with us.

What now?
Tomorrow we will send the package files to the factory that produces the Dropit box. During the next couple of months everything will be produced, packed and shipped to Denmark so it will be ready for the official introduction later this summer. During the launch of Dropit we will also display 6 of the best drawings in our Copenhagen Store.

Once again thank you for your name suggestions and drawing – and for making our job even more fun.

We love great design

Normann Copenhagen is a way of living - a mindset. We like to think of it as putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world in a different way. We love to challenge the conventional design rules.

On this blog we write about our design, the designers, and interesting things we spot around our hometown - Copenhagen.

Enjoy
Normann Copenhagen
