kuglen-total

We love the zone where art and business meet. Above you can see “Kuglen” at the Charlottenborg spring exhibition in Copenhagen. In August get prepared to be welcomed by this giant artsphere in our entrance.

Product tattoo… would you?

tattoo-products

If you love great product design, what better way to show it, than to have it as a tattoo on your body. The drawings above belongs to Magnus one of our former colleagues that dropped by the Normann Copenhagen HQ today. His first tattoo was the Jaguar E.

GET A FREE Normann Copenhagen tattoo
Some of us still got a “pure” body, others would like to have a tattoo… for free!!! So here is the deal. If you fancy one of our products so much that you would like to have it tattooed on your body, we will pay the tattoo costs.

What about the cute Woofy dog, the siluet of the famous Norm 69 lamp or  go for the full monty with the complete Camping series. You decide. Just promise to contact Michael first so that we can agree on the terms, and so that you don’t end up with a fake product tattoo.

Schhh… it’s art!

kvadrat-art

We have just finished building these two – three – dimensional clouds for our store in Copenhagen. Each cloud consists of several tiles hold together with rubber bands. Not only do they look great on the walls, they also absorb sound. A perfect combination for everybody with noisy neighbors or teenagers! Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Kvadrat.

Harry’s Place – forever

Every city has it’s secret places. Harry’s Place in Copenhagen is one of them. You barely notice it when you pass it, but ask anybody in NordVest and they know Harry’s Place – the place to eat the perfect lunch consisting of a Danish red hotdog, a bøfsandwich (almost a hamburger, but it tastes much better), and of cause the cold chocolate milk… a classic combination.

harrys-place

Danish goldsmith Patricia Tind has taken the Harry’s Place concept and added a few new ingredients. A series of hand-made jewelry give instant street respect  - and show everybody that you are a true Harry’s Place  original.

rød-pølse

The “Micro Børge” hotdog pin comes in several different colors and materials. This one is the classic “Rød Pølse” Made in sterling silver and red lack.

pølse-tallerken

This beautiful neckless is inspired by the paper hotdog plates (the corners). The design will create a fun contrast at the gourmet candlelight dinner… making you thoughts drift off to a place where you can get a proper meal – fast.

It’s a wrap – and you can win it!

UPDATE: The competition is over and we have found several true Normann Copenhagen spotters.

Christo wraps buildings, we wrap products, and if you can unwrap what behind the paper - you might win it. However, this is not a easy competition, only true Normann Copenhagen spotters stand a chance. Send us a mail: blog[at]normann-copenhagen.com with the product´s name and you might win one of them. The more products, the greater chance of winning – so be very specific.

p.s. only one prize per person. The person that identifies the most correct product names gets to choose first.

Here today – gone tomorrow

You are getting older. No matter what you do to keep in shape , the fact is that you are getting older by the second… just by reading this you came a few minutes closer to retirement… how is that for a depressing thought!  To top it all your memory is also getting worse – here today – gone tomorrow.

When Ole Jensen designed the Collect bookcase he thought of the third age. He wanted to create a piece of furniture that would help him remember the things that really mattered to him – when he was younger.

collect

We all surround ourselves with products – most of them are just nice to have, but some of them actually mean something special to us. A football that reminds you of that perfect game. A pair of shades that represents the wildest summer in your life, or the book that acturally did make a difference in your life.

 green-collect-bookcase

Filling the Collect bookcase with things is almost like going to an island where you can only bring a few things. It does’nt have unlimited rooms, and some of them have an odd shape. How would you prioritise?

Click below to see some of the things we would put in our Collect bookcase:

You have been framed!

gold-zoo-frame

We have this thing about frames at Normann Copenhagen. We spot them everywhere (like the corner frame), we frame our employees!!! (like him and her) – and if we  give Peter Elmegaard 5 minutes, he will turn everything he finds into a really cool frame, like this Zoo Gold frame.

Seen a lot of Gold lately? – no wonder since Gold is the new black. Need proof? – just click on our previous post like the DKK 600.000 Gold Bike, the Nike bling sneakers, and “We sell Gold – cheap
