We spotted this cool looking urban two-seater micro car. It is powered by hydrogen fuel cells – so you wont get much greener. However, what really gets our smiles wide is the stylish carbon composites black body. Finally, someone has managed to combine environmental thinking and design. Made in the UK by a small company called riversimple.
Hugo Spowers, if you are listening in on this channel, we would love to exhibit your car in our Flagship store in Copenhagen during the COP15.
7 years ago Britt Bonnesen designed a quite unique vase; the Swing Vase.

Britt Bonnesen explains: My father worked all his life in a glass workshop, and I grew up among the glass-blowers. The shape of the vase arose in a dialogue with local glass-blowers, through which the vase was allowed to determine its own form. The vase was so to speak allowed to “settle down”, and the Swing Vase was born.

Each Swing Vase is unique; the shape varies from vase to vase, as all of them are mouth-blown. It’s a little sculpture that looks fine alone, but really comes into its own in the company of other Swing Vases.

A few facts:
Sizes: small, medium, large. Most sold in medium – normally together with a small
Colors: Green, Red, White, Black, Red and the brand new color – Purple
Bonus info # 1: Today Britt is running the successfull kids cloting company named Holly’s.
Bonus info # 2: Most customers use the Swing vase without flowers – as a small sculpture.
Bonus info #3: The Swing vase has been spotted as a beer glass at the Normann Copenhagen Christmas party… see proof below.

We were invited to give a speak at the SPEED2 – Belgrade design week. Speed2 is the annual meeting point of South East Europe’s creative industries. We were very impressed by the numbers of unique talents – their drive – and the numbers of Mac computers… always a good sign.

Below is our impressions from 48 hours in the new design capital of South East Europe.

Mads from the Danish company Goodmorning Technology send us this extremely cool bicycle handlebars – Bike Porter. What a great idea – and yes E.T. would love them too.

Not in production yet, we keep our fingers crossed and our wallets ready – we want to be the first Elliot on the street.

We love great Architecture like the Frank Lloyd Wrights “Fallingwater” and we love LEGO. According to PrairieMod LEGO and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has started to produce Mr. Lloyd Wrights masterpieces (Fallingwater and Guggenheim) in LEGO. What a great idea for those of us that still needs a bit of help constructing the big models.

LEGO version of “Lunch atop a skyscraper” by Balakov.
There is no doubt that LEGO helps to boost creative minds and these days you can find almost everything build out of LEGO. Here is a few of our favorites: The Fail Whale, the iPhone, and of cause the LEGO Star WARS symphony seen by over 14 million on Youtube.

UPDATE: The competition is over and we have found several true Normann Copenhagen spotters.
Tomorrow we will find the winners of our “It’s a wrap – and you can win it” competition. We are very impressed by the number of super spotters. Think you know the right answers? then submit your answers before 12 o’clock (Danish time) tomorrow, and you are still in the game.
When you are in Amsterdam and you love design, MENDO has to be on your list! This design bookshop is one of the most inspiring shops in town with books about architecture, fashion, photography, interior- and graphic design. They also have an amazing collection of XL books, e.g. of David LaChapelle, Muhammad Ali (GOAT), Peter Beard, Michael Polizi, The F1 Opus, Valentino en Vivienne Westwood.
It’s not only the great collections of books that make it a visit worthwhile. The concept of a store filled with creative books has been the starting point of their design. Like a house made of bricks, the shop is built by plain, black, custom-made MENDO books (2,000 have been used). The thought behind is that these plain books will make the other books stand out. Concrete, a renowned Dutch design agency, is responsible for the design.

How would we get around the streets of Copenhagen (fast and in style of course), if we could pick and choose from all the shelfes.
Top 5 commute list:
#5. Mini

This qute little fellow is turning 50 this year and what better way to get around the narrow streets of Copenhagen than with the help of an old British German Gentleman.
#4. Soapbox cart

Okay we sell them, but its still a extremly fun way to get around (just ask the Daytona Race 1994 Champ.). However you need a good friend to do the running… run Forrest, run!
#3. Bike

Copenhagen is a city of bike lovers. Everybody rides their bike. Its fast, clean and hip. Do like the Ministers, the Wild ones and the very rich ones.
#2. Segway PUMA

The old Segway is kind of nerdy, but check out the new two person version. Bound to turn a few heads even around Tivoli.
