Today we would like to tell you about a very special place here in the cold north. It is one of our all time favorite Cafees – the Louisiana (Museum of Modern Art) Café in Humlebæk. You may know the museum – but have you ever had a hot cup of coco - sitting in front of the fire place – looking at the amazing art – and the ocean… it’s to die for.

Alexander Calders amazing sculptures.
Bonus info. If you arrive with kids “drop” them of at the Children’s wing – it’s awesome.

Who said a knife had to be oblong?
Knives are often the same form and you don’t really see other designs than straight and oblong knives. But who said you couldn’t mess with tradition. And if the result is great why not flaunt it? Say hello to Chop Chop – designed by the Italian designduo LucidiPevere Studio.

Tonight is the night Aarstiderne.com VS Normann Copenhagen will be fighting each other in the Scandinavian game of BOB. The rules are simple, the game will be fair and the food will probably be awesome… but there can be only one and we are in the game to win. Results will be announced on Twitter during the evening.

Looks are not everything!

Ever been to Denmark? If yes, you have probably also tasted the Danish version of a hot-dog. We have previously revealed one of our all time favorite hot-dog spots in Copenhagen called Harry’s Place. Today we would like to share another food secret with you. Do it yourself Gourmet hot-dogs.

It may not look very appetizing (taken with an iPhone!) but trust us, every little hotdog detail is perfect. Rémoulade with Karl Johan mushrooms, goose fat fried onions with rosemary, Stokes ketchup from England, we could go on and on. The Gourmet hot-dog do-it-yourself-bag, is a concept from Løgismose and you can find them right here.

The weekend is approaching fast and it is time to relax. At the Normann HQ we ended the day with homemade cookies and milk.

This is the Bo Bech bakery located in Store Kongensgade 46. They only bake one kind of bread. One size, one price. The open at 10 o´clock and closes when all the loafs are sold… it’s that simple.
First of all we love the bread – which is probably the best bread you can get in all of Copenhagen. Furthermore, we are quite impressed with Mr. Bech having the guts to open a bakery selling just one kind of bread. Think about it. How many companies do you know that has the courage to sell only one product! The lesson for today must be: You only have to do one thing – you just have to be damn good at it.

No fancy street advertising, no hip interior decorations, no smart packaging and no tunes on the stereo – just a big wooden table with bread… its that simple.

The bread costs DKK 35,- which is about average for a bread these days. But remember to bring cash since they dont accept credit cards.

The picture above is from one of our favorite Cafes in Copenhagen. It is very small, only serve six different dishes and you are encouraged to bring your dirty dishes back to the counter. But the food tastes great, the atmosphere is cozy and during the summer you can sit outside in the yard – which by the way also works as a theater during the long Danish summer nights.
If you don´t know the place, click below and we will reveal one of our secrets.

This blog is not about food. But every now and again we have to sneak in a tip or two from our hometown. This time we would like to recommend a awesome steak house in the center of Copenhagen. Its called MASH (Modern American Steak House) and it serves some of the best steaks in town. The MASH visual concept and interior is designed by the British design agency Orbit design and has a very classic, cozy and american feel to it.
